Don’t throw away those old negatives

Like many things, the camera has progressed into the digital age at such a rapid rate over recent years,  the days of the film based camera are all but gone.  With the advances in technology you can now take pictures with your digital camera and have them in digital format on your computer ready to print out or store in a matter of minutes.
Those who remember the old film based cameras will no doubt remember the negative strips of film that would come with the photo’s once the film had been processed, and many will still have these old photo’s along with the negatives stored somewhere safe in photo albums or such like.
It’s possible to transfer these negative films into digital images using a purpose built negative scanner.  Using a similar technology to the traditional flatbed scanner and by adding a holder for the negatives the new style negative scanners are able to capture your old memories and treasured photo’s and convert them into digital images.
They are now becoming more popular and due=2 0to the increase in demand prices are becoming more competitive with some of the more basic entry models being available for just over the £50 mark.  There are more expensive versions available and depending on the number of negatives you have and the quality of the end result you wish to achieve you will be able to find a suitable negative scanner from the wide choice available on the market.
If you do happen to have old negatives in various formats stored away safe, now is a great time to considering purchasing a negatives scanner and restore your old photo’s into digital format.  With a little time and effort and by using some pieces of purpose made software often bundled with these scanners your old negatives can be transformed into digital images for you to do whatever you like with.
